Undoubtedly the most anticipated lunar eclipse of the entire decade in Central Europe will take place on the night of Friday July 27. It is a total lunar eclipse, therefore, the Moon will be completely immersed in Earth's shadow for 1 hour and 44 minutes. The phenomena will start at 20:40 CEST, while the exact time is dependent on the specific location.
As a bonus, it will be possible, this night, to observe the opposition of Mars with the Sun - Mars will be reaching the maximum magnitude (-2.78 mag). We will also be able to find, low above the southern horizon, the planet Saturn in Sagittarius, as well as the clear Jupiter in Libra.
