The upcoming lunar eclipse and solar eclipse
On the 7th of August, we will have a unique opportunity to observe a lunar eclipse. The phenomenon can be seen in Central Europe and eastwards from there, up to Japan. It will be a partial eclipse in Europe (about 25% of the visible surface of the Moon). The phenomenon will take place already upon the twilight, yet it should be visible if the sky is clear. The maximum eclipse will occur exactly at 8:20 p.m. CEST.
The solar eclipse will be visible on the 21th of August only to US residents. The Moon's shadow will gradually pass across the whole United States from the west to the east. Depending on the latitude, either a total or partial eclipse can be observed.
